Day 01: LIMA
Reception at Jorge Chavez Airport and transport to selected hotel. Lodging. free day for personal activities.
Day 02: LIMA - CITY TOUR
Breakfast.
It will take you 03 hours to travel to the XVI century. You will visit the enchantments of colonial Lima: the Main Square located up to now in the same area assigned by Francisco Pizarro, founder of Lima in 1535; the Cathedral, the Government Palace, we recommended you to attend the change of guard (daily at 11:45), the San Francisco Monastery, with its beautiful cloister and entrance, as well as the underground galleries or catacombs which were used as cemeteries during the Colony Period, traditional districts with their own enchantments like the Stone Bridge, the Alameda de los Delcalzos, the Paseo de Aguas and the famous Acho Bullring. We will appreciate then the Huaca Huallamarca, which was considerate as a Pre-Inca worship and ceremonial center. Then you will travel back to the XX century visiting modern districts with beautiful squares, as well as Miraflores with its beautiful beaches, intensive commercial trading and active nightlife. You will visit the Park of Love where stands a big sculpture representing a "Couple of Andean lovers" facing the Pacific Ocean.
Day 03: LIMA / CUSCO - CITY TOUR + 4 RUINS
Breakfast.
At required time transfer from hotel to airport to board the flight to Cusco. At your arrival, reception at Velasco Astete airport and transfer to selected hotel. Lodging. Free morning to get acclimatized to the 3 360 m.a.s.l.
In the afternoon, city tour in Cusco walking through the Cathedral which its exterior and interior frontage show a renacentist style. Inside, you will find beautiful cedar wood statues, like the chorus and the Pulpit, as well as the paintings of the Cusco Art School, and some objects made of silver. You will also visit the Qorikancha or Sun Temple; nowadays is the Santo Domingo Church. Then you will visit the four surrounding ruins: The Sacsayhuaman Fortress, Q´enqo, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay.
Day 04: CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
Breakfast.
Excursion to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas", a succession of picturesque towns, agricultural terraces and archaeological sites. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, we´ll have the opportunity to bargain with vendors or stroll at the Pisac's typical Indian market, with a catholic mass service on Sunday (celebrated in Quechua, the native language). Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon pass through Calca and Urubamba towns to arrive to the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, which was built to guard the entry of this part of the valley and protect it from enemies of the lower jungles; consisting in a series of superimposed terraces of carved stones accessed by long staircases. We will have the opportunity to walk through the quaint streets of the nearby town, religious and agricultural centre during the Inca Empire, and get a clear idea of the military strategy against possible invasions. On our way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero where the remains of what was the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui lies. Admire its well preserved Inca Wall at the Main Square, visit the beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes on the portico. Back to Cusco in the afternoon.
Day 05: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast.
Full day excursion to Machu Picchu archeological complex, located in a subtropical Cusco area at 2350 m.a.s.l. Transfer from your hotel to the train station to start your guided visit. You will see the marvelous Machu Picchu Citadel where you will walk trough squares, temples, terraces, worship centers and its Royal Palace. You will also visit the "Intiwatana" or Solar Clock and several beautiful natural water fountains carved on rock. Includes lunch. In the afternoon, return to Cusco by train followed by a reception and transport to your hotel.
Day 06: CUSCO / LIMA / GUAYAQUIL
Breakfast.
Early in the morning, transfer to airport to take a flight to Lima. Assistance to take flight to Guayaquil, reception and transfer to hotel selected.
Day 07: GUAYAQUIL / PORT BAQUERIZO
Moreno - Galapagos San Cristobal Island.
Day 08: GALAPAGOS (B) (L) (D)
Espaņola Island - Punta Suarez -Santa Cruz Island - Port Ayora and Darwin Station
Day 09: GALAPAGOS (B) (L) (D)
Genovesa Island - Barranco - B. Darwin
Day 10: Galapagos / OUT
San Cristobal Island - Ochoa Beach or Lobos Island.
